National Safety Apparel (NSA), a leading manufacturer of high-performance personal protective equipment, safety apparel, and electric utility products, announced plans to hire 65 new positions following its recent acquisitions. The project was awarded a JobsOhio $200 thousand Workforce Grant.
The expansion of production capabilities and resources at the Cleveland facility will position the company for continued growth. The JobsOhio Workforce Grant will support the recruitment and training of additional workers needed to meet increased demand. NSA will also invest $1.3 million to build out its existing space and update machinery and equipment.
“NSA is proud to continue investing in Northeast Ohio, where my grandfather founded the business to protect steel mill workers in 1935,” said Chuck Grossman, NSA’s Vice Chairman. “This expansion enables us to create new jobs in the region while increasing our capacity to manufacture the protective apparel, PPE, and electric utility products that workers depend on to stay safe in some of the most demanding environments. We appreciate the support of JobsOhio, Team NEO, and the City of Cleveland as we continue to grow our manufacturing operations and strengthen our commitment to American-made safety solutions.”
A team including the city of Cleveland, JobsOhio, and Team NEO worked closely with NSA to demonstrate the advantages of expanding in Cleveland, ultimately securing the project over other locations within the company’s existing footprint.
