ALDI to Increase Employment at Northeast Ohio Warehouse

Grocery Retailer to Add 60+ Employees at Ohio Location

ALDI, a leader in the grocery retailing industry, announced plans to grow employment at its distribution center in Hinckley. The retailer plans to add more than 60 new full time equivalent positions, and retain 180 full time equivalent positions within the next three years.

ALDI is nationally recognized for its commitment to employees. Named to Forbes’ list of America’s Best Large Employers for four consecutive years, ALDI offers wages and benefits that are higher than those of other retailers in the market. The company cited access to market as a primary reason for increasing employment specifically in Northeast Ohio. The additional Hinckley employment opportunities are part of the company’s aggressive growth plan to expand to 2,500 stores by the end of 2022, and add 25,000 jobs to serve 100 million customers each month.

“As ALDI continues to grow, we’re excited to expand employment opportunities at our Hinckley distribution center, and we’re proud to be an employer of choice in the state of Ohio and across the U.S.,” said Corey Stucker, Hinckley division vice president for ALDI. “We’re committed to job growth across the country and look forward to continuing to serve our local Ohio communities in the years to come.

A team of JobsOhio, Medina County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) and Team NEO worked together to ensure that ALDI chose to grow its Hinckley location versus other locations where it currently has a presence.

“Northeast Ohio is ideally located to provide quick access to market, which equates to attractive financial advantages for companies such as ALDI,” said Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler. “Along with JobsOhio and MCEDC, we look forward to supporting ALDI’s ongoing success in the region.”

“We are thrilled with the commitment ALDI has made to continue growing here in Medina County, which is a testament to the strength of our local economy and the collaborative efforts of our economic development team,” said MCEDC Executive Director Bethany Dentler.
