Bill Christopher to Receive Team NEO H Peter Burg Regional
Vision Award

Team NEO will honor William F. Christopher with the H.
Peter Burg Regional Vision Award at the Team NEO Economic
Development Plus Awards to be held July 11, 2013. The H. Peter Burg
Award is Team NEO’s highest honor, commemorating the late
chairman and CEO of FirstEnergy Corporation, a regional leader and
the founding chairman of Team NEO.

“For many years, Bill Christopher has worked to enhance the
climate for business growth in Northeast Ohio,” said Tom
Waltermire, CEO of Team NEO. “Since late 2011, Bill has led a
joint effort by the business and philanthropic communities to
create a regional economic competitiveness strategy, to guide
investments by these two sectors in economic development. Working
with more than 150 leaders from business, foundation, higher
education and the public sector, Bill has inspired the group to
identify priorities and actions that will strengthen the
region’s global competitiveness and create a strategy for our
long-term success. Bill’s tireless leadership and commitment
to driving this effort forward exemplifies the legacy of Pete
Burg.”

Bill is currently the President and CEO of Lakeview Consulting
Enterprises LLC, specializing in helping small and mid-size
businesses develop strategies for growth and implementing
management systems for disciplined execution of strategic
priorities.

Prior to his retirement in April, 2011, Bill was responsible for
Alcoa’s global efforts in the aerospace, automotive,
commercial transportation, building and construction, oil and gas,
and fastening systems areas. As Group President, Alcoa Engineered
Products & Solutions, Bill oversaw the following Alcoa
businesses: Alcoa Power and Propulsion, Alcoa Fastening Systems,
Alcoa Forgings and Extrusions, Alcoa Wheel and Transportation
Products, Building and Construction Systems, and Alcoa Oil and Gas.
This group of businesses had approximately $5 billion in sales in
2010 and 20,000 employees in 18 countries.

Bill was a member of Alcoa’s Executive Council, the senior
leadership group that provides strategic direction for the company.
He also served as the director of Alcoa’s Global Aerospace
Market Sector.

Bill’s civic involvement includes being the immediate past
chairman of the Greater Cleveland Partnership. He also chairs the
Air Demand Task Force for the Mayor, which is dedicated to
increasing the demand and air service at Cleveland Hopkins
Airport.
