Brendan Buescher, Managing Partner of McKinsey’s Cleveland office, joins Team NEO’s Board
The Board of Directors of Team NEO appointed Brendan Buescher, Managing Partner of McKinsey, to the organization’s board. Buescher joined McKinsey in 1997 and has served many leading healthcare institutions—including national provider chains and regional health systems, academic medical centers, medical-supply and pharmaceutical distributors, and device manufacturers. He was also instrumental in helping to develop Northeast Ohio’s Regional Economic Competitiveness Strategy (RECS) to accelerate job growth in the region.
“Brendan’s experience in the healthcare industry, combined with his deep knowledge of the region’s economic development system, is invaluable,” said Team NEO CEO, Bill Koehler. “His expertise will help Team NEO advance its mission to grow and strengthen the economy of our 18-county region.”
Team NEO’s Board of Directors consists of regional leaders from the business, philanthropic and higher education communities. The Board is aligned with the strategies put forth by RECS.
About Brendan Buescher
Brendan is the managing partner of McKinsey’s Cleveland office and a leader of our global Healthcare Systems & Services Practice. Since joining McKinsey in 1997, he has served many leading healthcare institutions—including national provider chains and regional health systems, academic medical centers, medical-supply and pharmaceutical distributors, and device manufacturers.
Brendan has also supported efforts by US states to improve population health and create sustainable healthcare-delivery systems. He has also supported state-led efforts in multipayor payment innovation to simultaneously improve healthcare costs, outcomes, and patient experience.
Brendan helped launch McKinsey’s healthcare-analytics models, which offer benchmarking, performance tools, and advanced analytics to healthcare providers. He has also authored multiple articles and spoken extensively to healthcare executives and boards.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Brendan served 6 years in the United States Air Force, including leading its sensitive intelligence operations for Asia–Pacific. After resigning his commission as captain in 1993, he consulted for the United States intelligence community.
