Successful fermented foods company to add 80 new jobs
Cleveland Kitchen Co., creating world-class culinary fermented foods, including their well-known Cleveland Kraut, has announced plans to expand their business by adding 80 new positions to their current staff of 58. The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) approved the project for tax credit assistance during its Ohio Tax Credit Authority meeting today.
The expansion is necessary to accommodate the innovative company’s offerings of delicious, fermented foods with a halo of health.
“We are eager and excited to expand with state-of-the-art pickle manufacturing equipment at our newly rebuilt and expanded Cleveland plant,” said Cleveland Kitchen Chief Executive Drew Anderson. “We could not be prouder to grow in Cleveland, add 80 jobs over the next few years, and continue to make delicious and vibrant Ohio-made products and ship them across the country across 20,000 stores.”
JobsOhio, ODOD, Team NEO, Project Management Consultants, the City of Cleveland, and Cuyahoga County collaborated with Cleveland Kitchen Co. to provide a variety of resources and insights to help bring the project to fruition.
“Cleveland Kitchen brings a taste of our city’s unique culture and diversity to supermarkets and kitchens across the country,” said Mayor Justin M. Bibb. “We are thrilled to see this homegrown Cleveland business grow and grateful that they will expand their manufacturing operation and create quality, accessible jobs for Clevelanders.”
“Cleveland Kitchen has become a beacon of success in Cuyahoga County,” said Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne. “This expansion not only strengthens our local economy but also highlights our region’s entrepreneurial spirit and culinary excellence. We are excited to witness the growth of Cleveland Kitchen and the positive changes it will bring to our community. Together, we are building a brighter future for Cuyahoga County.”
“PMC was happy to assist Cleveland kitchen in their site search,” said Nora Walsh, senior analyst for Project Management Consults.
“We are pleased to support this growing family-owned business. Their presence in the Northeast Ohio Region is a testament to our robust food industry, which includes more than 500 food processing companies and 200-plus food packaging providers,” added Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler. “Along with our local partners and JobsOhio, we look forward to continuing to work with the company’s leadership team to ensure their continued success.”
