Region Posts Strong Results Through First Half of Year
The momentum from 2016 is carrying into 2017 as Northeast Ohio’s economic development community continues to make a major impact in terms of jobs created, jobs retained and capital investment. Through the first half of the year, our collective efforts have generated 3,234 new jobs, $177M in new payroll and $438M in capital investment. Companies are growing throughout the region and represent a number of industries. For example:
- Patriot Software provides cloud-based accounting and payroll services to companies that employ one to 100 individuals. To support its growth, the company was considering expansion opportunities at its Canton facility as well as options in New York and California. The Stark Development Board and Team NEO collaborated to ensure Patriot Software chose Canton for their expansion, resulting in 78 new positions and the retention of 124 jobs at the Canton location.
- Robots and Pencils L.P. is a mobile applications, software and marketing firm. The company develops consumer applications, enterprise software, education platforms and provides mobile strategy services. With the help of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the City of Cleveland, JobsOhio and Team NEO, Robots and Pencils will make Cleveland its U.S. headquarters, adding 54 new positions.
