Cristal to build $64 million expansion in Ashtabula County
Cristal, the world’s second largest producer of titanium dioxide
and a leading producer of titanium chemicals, announced plans to
expand its Cristal USA Inc. facility in Ashtabula County.
The $64 million expansion will include $45 million in fixed assets,
the hiring of 25 new full-time associates and the retention of
Cristal’s existing workforce. The expansion, an air
separation plant to support the facility’s manufacturing of
titanium dioxide, is scheduled to begin in spring 2014.
