Expansion of Data Centers to Meet Customer Demands
Involta, an industry-leading hybrid IT, cloud computing, and data center services company, announced plans to expand the footprint at its Independence and Akron data center campuses. The project will include the addition of 11 new, well-paying jobs bringing the Ohio market to more than 120 employees. The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) approved the project for tax credit assistance at its meeting today.
Involta’s physical expansion increases its capacity to meet the demand of its growing portfolio of enterprise customers. Involta’s Independence data center is designed to Uptime Institute® Tier III, 5th-generation facility criteria. It’s connected to the company’s Akron, Ohio, data center through a robust fiber ring that provides millisecond latency along the routes and between the two sites.
“Involta is committed to investing in the people, community and business ecosystem across the Northeast Ohio region and all the markets we serve,” comments Involta President and CEO, Jim Buie. “These projects mark the next phase of Involta’s growth as we increase our talent pool and physical footprint to deliver mission-critical infrastructure and services to enterprises in Northeast Ohio. The region is perfectly positioned to benefit from the secular trends relating to both the movement of data as well as geographic investment in technology infrastructure.”
Involta chose to expand in the Northeast Ohio Region due to available infrastructure and access to key customers in the fintech, healthcare, and manufacturing industries. An economic development team comprised of JobsOhio, Team NEO, and ODOD worked with company executives to ensure Involta’s investment in its Northeast Ohio operations.
“Involta’s commitment to expand here is a testament to a diverse industry base in the Northeast Ohio Region, as well as our growing technology talent base,” said Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler. “Along with JobsOhio and our local partners, all of us at Team NEO look forward to supporting Involta’s ongoing success.”
