Company adds manpower and equipment to meet strong demand
Knight Material Technologies, a leader in custom acid-resistant linings used in highly corrosive processes for the chemical and mining industries, has announced plans to expand their headquarters in Canton. The project will entail investment in new equipment and the addition of 45 new jobs added to the current 92 positions. The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) approved the company for tax credit assistance at its meeting today.
The 100-year-old company, having recently acquired the Electro Chemical Engineering and Manufacturing Co., will be better able to support their customers with the expansion as they leverage the expertise of both companies.
Kevin Brooks, President and CEO of Knight Materials responded to the tax credit assistance, ”We appreciate the support provided by ODOD, Stark Economic Development Board, JobsOhio, and Team NEO contributing to our continued growth in Stark County.”
“We are delighted that Knight Material Technologies has selected Stark County for its expansion,” said Ray Hexamer, President and CEO of Stark Economic Development Board. “This innovative company is continually growing, and we look forward to working with them as they thrive and grow here.”
“The Northeast Ohio Region is actively focused on the future of the manufacturing industry through new technologies and skilled talent—Knight Materials is making great strides in these areas,” said Bill Koehler, CEO, Team NEO. “Along with our local partners, ODOD, and JobsOhio, we look forward to working with Knight Material Technologies as they strengthen our advanced manufacturing sector in the Northeast Ohio Region.”
