CLEVELAND, Ohio, September 5, 2018 – The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET) and Team Northeast Ohio (Team NEO) are teaming up with the Cleveland Engineering Society for the 7th Annual Northeast Ohio Manufacturing Symposium, an event designed to help Northeast Ohio manufacturers leverage emerging technologies to grow their businesses.
Workshops and a panel discussion will cover hot topics in the technology realm:
- Cybersecurity and the Internet of Things (IoT)
- New frontiers in manufacturing technology
- Process innovation best practices
- Workforce innovation and the talent pipeline
The theme of this year’s Manufacturing Symposium is “Leverage Emerging Technologies to Grow Your Business,” with over a dozen Northeast Ohio manufacturing executives discussing their best practices and lessons learned. The technologies discussed include 3D printing, online education for incumbent workers, the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, blockchain, and more. Companies presenting include Jergens, Flavorseal, Lincoln Electric, M7 Technologies, Criterion Tool, LEFCO Worthington, Montville Plastics, PresRite, Technology House, and more.
Culminating in the keynote, “Autonomous Vehicles: Preparing for the Next Revolution in Manufacturing,” by Jason Sudy, principal, OHM Advisors, the symposium will provide manufacturers with a forum for sharing insights and best practices while learning about the latest technological advances.
“This type of information exchange is vital to continuing the spirited evolution of advanced manufacturing in our region,” said Ethan Karp, CEO of MAGNET. “When local companies that are actively leveraging these exciting new technologies collaborate face-to-face with those who are interested in them, the potential for revenue and job growth for our region increases significantly.”
Jay Foran, senior vice president of Industry and Innovation at Team NEO added, “Northeast Ohio has a rich tradition of innovation in manufacturing. This Symposium will bring cutting-edge ideas and technologies to the forefront in a meaningful way, as manufacturers hear firsthand how their peers are implementing emerging technologies to strengthen their companies and industries.”
The 7th Annual Northeast Ohio Manufacturing Symposium will take place at the Spitzer Conference Center at Lorain County Community College on Friday, September 28, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit cesnet.org/events for more information.
