Ohio Exports Hit Record $52.1 Billion
A
new Commerce Department report shows Ohio
companies exported $52.1 billion worth of goods in 2014, which
helped the U.S. achieve a record high for goods and services: $2.35
trillion.
Goods exports from Ohio supported an estimated 259,000 U.S. jobs in
2013. On average, jobs in these export-related industries pay up to
18 percent more than non-export-related industries.
Ohio’s top export in 2014 was transportation equipment ($15.7
billion), machinery ($6.9 billion) and chemicals ($6.6
billion).
