OverDrive Expands in the Northeast Ohio Region to Support Growth

OverDrive, the world’s leading digital reading platform for libraries and schools, recently expanded its headquarters in Garfield Heights, to create room for 75 new jobs. The company built out approximately 7,000 square feet of unoccupied space at its Blue Sky Campus to accommodate the future new employees.

Currently employing 400 staff – including 80 degreed librarians and educators – that work with more than 73,000 libraries and schools worldwide, the expansion was fueled by accelerated growth in digital learning.

“Our mission fuels everything we do at OverDrive, and as a Certified B Corp we use our business as a force for good by providing access to the best digital content through schools and public libraries,“ said Lori Franklin, Chief Operating Officer for OverDrive. “As a result of the growing demand for ebooks, digital audiobooks and streaming media, we are excited to add even more passionate and talented people to our team here in Northeast Ohio.”

Team NEO and JobsOhio have supported OverDrive in past growth opportunities and are delighted to offer a workforce grant and an economic development grant for this expansion. This support ensures new hires will be made in Ohio versus work-from-home positions outside the state.

“Forward-thinking companies like OverDrive are leading the way to grow our information services industry in the Northeast Ohio Region,” said Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler. “We are delighted to work with JobsOhio and local partners as they continue to grow and prosper here.”
