Company plans to expand production operations, adding 150 new jobs
Superior Roll Forming, a Welser Profile company, moved another step forward in its plans to expand in Valley City, as the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved the project for tax credit assistance at its meeting today. A leading supplier for the automotive, aerospace, construction and solar industries, Superior plans to add 150 new jobs, while retaining more than 220 current positions. The company is renovating a building to house its new workforce near its current facility.
“Everyone at Superior Roll Form, a Welser Profile company, would like to thank Team NEO and JobsOhio for their support and commitment to this project,” said Bill Johnson, President and CEO, Welser, Inc. “We are very excited to continue our expansion plans in North America. We are blessed with great employees and a community that is so committed to our success. We look forward to adding more team members to the Welser Profile family in Ohio.”
An economic team including the Medina County Economic Development Corporation, the Ohio Development Services Agency, JobsOhio and Team NEO is working closely with Superior Roll Forming management to ensure a smooth expansion and successful recruitment efforts. Logistics and the availability of talent are among the reasons decision-makers say they chose Valley City for further expansion.
“This investment by Superior Roll Forming represents Medina County’s largest capital investment by a manufacturer since the start of the pandemic,” said Bethany Dentler, CEcD, Executive Director, Medina County Economic Development Corporation. “We have been privileged to work with them for several years now on their expansion plans, and it is gratifying to see the Welser family’s confidence in our community and the labor force in the region.”
Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler said, “Superior Roll Forming has earned a reputation for excellence in the Northeast Ohio Region, building components for customers including Honda, Volkswagen, Ford and Nissan. This expansion brings even broader capabilities and employment opportunities to the area. With our local partners and JobsOhio, we commit our support to the ongoing success of this industry leader.”
