Tarkett purchases new facility in Geauga County
CLEVELAND, Ohio, August 30, 2018 – Tarkett, a worldwide leader of innovative flooring and sports surface solutions, announced it has invested several million dollars to expand its operations in Auburn Township with the purchase of the recently vacated 70,000-square-foot Mar-Bal building. This new facility will complement Tarkett’s existing 140,000-square-foot operations in Auburn Township, which produces Johnsonite vinyl resilient wall base and finishing borders, and will result in the addition of approximately 75 new jobs.
“We’re excited for this opportunity to expand our presence in Northeast Ohio, increasing our production capacity and creating additional jobs locally,” said Jeff Fenwick, president, Resilient, Tarkett North America. “This expansion allows us to continue to meet our customers’ needs by delivering the high-quality products on which they rely.”
Geauga Growth Partnership, JobsOhio and Team NEO worked together to support Tarkett’s expansion.
“We are delighted that Tarkett has chosen to expand in Geauga County and look forward to supporting the corporation’s ongoing success,” said Tracy Jemison, president of Geauga Growth Partnership. “This investment confirms Tarkett’s confidence in the people and resources of Geauga County, and the creation of new jobs reflects the company’s lasting commitment to our region’s economic growth.”
“Many of the best-known brands in commercial and home flooring come from Tarkett,” said Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler. “They are a leading innovator in their industry, which makes Northeast Ohio an ideal location for their continued investment. Advanced manufacturing companies worldwide are recognizing that Northeast Ohio offers exceptional opportunities for growth by accessing our region’s talent, innovation and resources. Team NEO was delighted to work with JobsOhio and the Geauga Growth Partnership to make this a win-win for our region and for Tarkett.”
