Team NEO Names Paul Clark Chairman of the Board
The governing board of trustees of Team NEO is pleased to
announce that Paul Clark, regional president for PNC Bank in
Cleveland, has assumed the role of chairman for the region’s
business attraction and growth organization. He succeeds The Timken
Company Chairman Ward J. “Tim” Timken, Jr., who has
chaired Team NEO since 2011.
“Paul’s renowned financial and business acumen, and
decades of passionate civic leadership will be a tremendous asset
to us and our mission to accelerate business and economic growth in
Northeast Ohio,” said Tom Waltermire, CEO of Team NEO.
“He brings unique perspectives to the regional efforts that
are already in progress as well as insightful new ideas for moving
forward.”
Said Clark, “It’s an exciting time to step up my
involvement with the region’s development and growth. I am
committed to carrying on Tim’s legacy of inspiring leadership
and encouraging the regional collaboration that is vital to
Northeast Ohio’s economic prosperity.”
Timken steps down after a highly successful tenure, during which
Team NEO took on new responsibilities to support regional business
development as the state’s JobsOhio regional network partner.
During Tim’s term, Team NEO’s business attraction
program brought 25 new companies to the region, resulting in more
than 2,400 new jobs and $115 million in annual payroll. In
addition, as part of its newer role, Team NEO has assisted local
economic development organizations complete 218 expansion and
retention projects, representing nearly 50,000 new and retained
jobs.

About Paul Clark
Paul Clark is regional president for PNC Bank in Cleveland. The
37-year financial services veteran joined PNC through its
acquisition of National City Corporation in December 2008.
Clark joined National City in 1976 as a management trainee in
Consumer Finance. He went on to serve in a variety of capacities
over the years, including executive vice president of Retail
Banking in Pennsylvania (where he led the integration of Integra
Financial Corporation) and president/CEO of Michigan/Illinois
(following the merger of First of America Bank Corporation).
Clark also served as executive vice president of
Institutional Asset Management and chair of the Investment
Management Company prior to his appointment as president of
Northern Ohio banking in 2004.
Clark is active in many civic and business organizations, serving
on the boards of Baldwin Wallace University, Cleveland Rock and
Roll Inc., Cuyahoga County Invest in Children, Greater Cleveland
Partnership, Musical Arts Association (Cleveland Orchestra),
Neighborhood Progress Inc., Playhouse Square Foundation, Team NEO,
The United Way of Greater Cleveland, University Circle Inc. and
University Hospitals Health Systems Inc.
With a bachelor’s degree in history from Denison University
and a Master of Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace
College (now Baldwin Wallace University), Clark was honored with a
doctor of humane letters degree from Baldwin-Wallace in 2010. He is
also a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking.
