Lost Opportunities: The pandemic’s impact on Northeast Ohio’s working women
Working women in the workforce is vital to our competitiveness as a region. While the pandemic had impacts on this talent pool, systemic issues have led to unequal pay, rigid maternity and paternity policies and hiring biases even before COVID-19 hit.
The May meeting will give a perspective on the importance of working women in the economic development industry. First, we’ll get data insights from Team NEO Research Associate Sondra Palivoda, lead researcher for the Lost Opportunities report, then we’ll enjoy a lively discussion with women in economic development:
- Abbey Bemis, Executive Director, Erie County Economic Development Corporation
- Camille Billups, Senior Director, Project Management, Team NEO
- Erica Fitzpatrick, Program Manager, Industry and Innovation, Team NEO
