Ericson Manufacturing Investing in the Northeast Ohio Region

Creating new jobs while expanding its facility

Ericson Manufacturing, an industry leader in temporary power and lighting products, announces plans to grow in its Willoughby operation. The project will add 20,000 square feet of production space and create 36 new jobs, while retaining 84 positions.

With fourth-generation leadership at the helm, the company is growing into a third facility and investing in cutting-edge technologies like 3D printing and next-generation manufacturing.

As leadership officially transitioned to brothers John Ericson as CEO and Josh Ericson as Vice President of Sales, their ownership marks a pivotal moment in the company’s 107-year history – honoring a deep legacy while positioning the business for continued growth. This expansion is an early demonstration of that momentum.

“This next chapter is about moving faster, working smarter, and being even more responsive to our customers,” said John Ericson. “With the support of the economic development team, including JobsOhio, Team NEO, and the City of Willoughby, this investment in new technology and talent is just the beginning.”

“As Mayor of Willoughby, I am proud to congratulate Ericson Manufacturing on another expansion,” said Mayor Robert Fiala, City of Willoughby. “With more than a century of excellence as a leader in electrical safety products, Ericson is a valued partner and a company we are proud to have call Willoughby home.”

“Ericson Manufacturing’s investment and expansion in Northeast Ohio highlights the strength of our workforce and the competitive advantages our region offers,” added Matt Dolan, Team NEO CEO. “We’re excited to support their continued growth and the new opportunities this investment will bring.”

About Ericson Manufacturing

It all started with a simple idea—Ericson’s original 1918 patent for a rubber hand lamp that made jobsites safer. That first innovation set the tone for who the company is: a family-owned business built on solving tough challenges with smart, rugged solutions. From jobsite power and industrial lighting to custom-engineered equipment, its products reflect a legacy of durability, precision, and protection. Ericson designs and builds the vast majority of its products in the U.S., giving customers a reliable, secure supply chain they can count on. While Ericson has long been trusted on construction and industrial jobsites, its solutions power a wide range of industries—including data centers, OEMs, rental markets, shipyards, and food and beverage facilities. Ericson delivers with craftsmanship, flexibility, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
