Two Erie County businesses recently received JobsOhio Small Business Grants to support their continued growth:
- Firelands Food Systems, LTD, located in Sandusky, provides premiere vending services option for northeast, northwest and northcentral Ohio, including the Toledo and Cleveland metro areas. A $50,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant will support the company’s expansion into the adjacent building, creating additional warehouse, staging, and production space to increase capacity. The project will support the creation of 10 new jobs and the retention of 81 existing jobs.
- Wallace Stud Welding Inc., a woman-owned business located in Berlin Heights that services large industrial projects, was awarded a $25,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant to help add a second welding unit so the company can take on multiple projects simultaneously. The project will add two new positions and retain one job.
The JobsOhio Small Business Grants offer up to $50 thousand in financial assistance to eligible small businesses in Ohio looking to grow their operations. Projects must operate within one of JobsOhio’s 10 target industries and have annual revenues between $100 thousand and $25 million.
A team of Greater Sandusky Partnership, JobsOhio and Team NEO worked with the companies to bring their projects to fruition.
