Company provides speech technology to individuals who are nonspeaking
PRC-Saltillo, a worldwide leader in developing speech-generating devices and apps, has announced plans for workforce expansion at its Wayne County headquarters in the Northeast Ohio Region. To accommodate rising global demand for the company’s life-changing communication devices, PRC-Saltillo will increase its current workforce of 226 Ohio-based employees with the addition of 60 back office, engineering, product development, and customer support staff. To better accommodate existing and new employees, PRC-Saltillo will invest in retrofitting its current office space. The Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) approved the project for tax credit assistance during its Ohio Tax Credit Authority meeting today.
PRC-Saltillo designs and builds custom augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, market-leading apps and innovative alternative communication language systems that enable individuals with a wide-range of complex communication disorders to express themselves.

The expansion is necessary to support the increasing demand for AAC solutions globally.
A cross-organizational team—including JobsOhio, ODOD, Team NEO, and Wayne County Economic Development Council collaborated to provide the business case for PRC-Saltillo to grow at its location south of the City of Wooster.
