Team NEO Reports on Regional Site Strategies

Northeast Ohio’s Right to Win: Leaning in & Leveling Up

This morning, Team NEO released the third edition of  Developing Opportunities, the latest data trends and insights designed to increase Northeast Ohio’s inventory of ready-to-develop manufacturing sites, at an event attended by more than 200 Northeast Ohio leaders at the Aviator in Cleveland.

This year’s event focused on strategically positioning sites for success. “Being strategic with our sites means making choices,” stated Christine Nelson, Vice President of Project Management and Site Strategies. “When we prioritize the projects where we can truly compete, we increase our probability to close and create real impact for the region.”

Keynote Darin Buelow, Principal, Global Location strategy Leader for Deloitte Consulting,  underscored the importance of being intentional and strategic in site selection. With more than 20 years of experience guiding major corporations as they deploy talent, facilities, and equipment around the world, he highlighted how data-driven decision-making can significantly increase a region’s probability of closing competitive projects.

The event also featured partners across the region who are putting the Developing Opportunities framework into action and redefining what it means to be “ready.”  These trailblazers included:

  • Katie Behnke, CPA, OhioCED, Economic Development Manager: City of Hudson
  • Rick Barga, Manager, Site Identification and Development: Cleveland Site Readiness for Good Jobs Fund
