Project supports operational efficiencies
thyssenkrupp rothe erde USA, a leading North American manufacturing of slewing bearings, announced in May 2025 plans to consolidate its operations in Aurora, relocating from Kentucky. The project is expected to add 45 new employees while retaining 127 existing jobs. The project includes a $10 million investment as the company relocates 25 machines from its Kentucky operations. thyssenkrupp rothe erde USA received a $150,000 JobsOhio Workforce Grant to support the company’s growth. The city of Aurora also supported the project with a 30 percent income tax rebate for three years beginning in 2026.
“With this investment, we aim to improve efficiency and further align our operations with the future demands of our industry. These advancements will allow us to better support our growth and success through improved service, reduced lead times, and enhanced product capabilities,” according to Dr. Frank Kuepper the company’s VP of Sales and Engineering.
The economic development team, including the city of Aurora, Portage Development Board, Portage County, JobsOhio, and Team NEO worked together to ensure thyssenkrupp rothe erde USA consolidated operations at its Aurora location.
